A personal journey into becoming a Funeral Celebrant

I’m really honoured to have recently been featured by my celebrant training tutor, Dinah Liversidge, who shared my story of how I came to train as an Independent Funeral Celebrant.

Becoming a celebrant wasn’t something I had ever planned. It came from a deeply personal place, following the loss of my brother in 2025, and the experience of supporting my family through one of the most difficult times in our lives.

In the article, I talk openly about that journey, from those early days, through my training with Dinah, to now beginning to support families myself. It also touches on my background in marketing and writing, my love of music, and some of the personal experiences that have shaped who I am today.

Dinah’s training has been such an important part of this journey. Her calm, thoughtful approach gave me the confidence to take those first steps and to feel that I could do this in a way that feels genuine and true to who I am.
